Summer of 2023 is just around the corner and LPTC is thrilled to re-introduce a new and improved summer program for LPTC youth to take part in! LPTC will run half day afternoon camps every week Monday through Friday from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Programs will commence the last week of June. Our programs will range between ages 5 to 16 in which students will be divided into groups according to their age and skill level.
The summer programs are strategically designed to improve athleticism, coordination and tennis skills through various drills and competitive play with an overall emphasis on fun! Students will have the opportunity to improve their athletic abilities, build character and create friendships with fellow campers.
Prior to students registering for the program, they must be an LPTC member first. Once registered as a member, students may then enroll into the selected program(s) of choice.
If there are any further questions and/or concerns, please reach out to the LPTC Head Pro.

Red Ball (Ages 5-7): This group will be playing with low compression Red balls on half of a tennis court with a small net. Twelve students will be divided into two levels during camp according to their skill level. During play we will focus on how to hit the ball, the essential tennis foundations including technique, proper grip, ready position and starting the rally. The more advanced group will include footwork, volleys and serves. The student to coach ratio is 4:1 or 6:1 depending on the amount of students that are on the court.
Orange Ball (Ages 8-10): This group will be playing with low compression Orange balls on a 3⁄4 tennis court. If needed, the LPTC team will modify and make a new baseline to make the court “smaller”. Technique, preparing for the next ball and the introduction of the serve is what the coaches will focus on. During play time, we are going to keep the classes fun and introduce the students to some point play and team games on the court. The student to coach ratio is 4:1 or 6:1 depending on the amount of students that are on the court.
Green Ball (Ages 11-14): This group will be playing with green balls on a full-sized tennis court. Students who have played once a week for approximately 2 years are suited to this level of play. During this class, we focus on hand-eye coordination, hitting the ball within the court with consistency, contact point, serving and the rallying. We always reiterate the tennis fundamentals, while keeping the classes fun and engaging. If students are more advanced after assessment by the coaches, they will switch to using yellow balls. The student to coach ratio is 4:1 or 6:1 depending on the amount of students that are on the court.
Yellow Ball (Ages 14-17): This group will be playing on a full-sized tennis court. During this class, we will focus on advanced feeding drills, intricate footwork as well as strategic and tactical point play. At the end of every session, a friendly competitive game will be played among these players with a focus on fair play and good sportsmanship. The student to coach ratio is 4:1 or 6:1 depending on the amount of students that are on court.
IN THE EVENT OF RAIN: Classes will be held in the clubhouse if it rains. Coaches will keep the kids busy with activities such as games, exercises, learning about the rules, etiquette, etc. To enhance on-court lessons, coaches may also play tennis videos for the kids.
Rain Policy: No refunds or credits are given for camp days that are rained out or missed. Missed camp days may be made-up during other camp weeks with prior arrangement. Exceptions do apply.
