Our popular house league program
Monday Evening House League from 7 – 10 pm
House League starts in mid-May and runs until mid-August (excluding the August Civic Holiday).
House League is open to members at all levels, and provides an opportunity to play regular guaranteed games (mixed, ladies’ and men’s doubles), meet new members and possibly new tennis partners through a team-based, fun based competitive program.
Registration on-line is required for House League which is sent out in April through our Between the Lines newsletter.
Games are played and arranged according to your level, Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3. When players register on-line for House League, they will be asked to indicate their level of play (Line 1, Line 2 or Line 3), and will be divided into teams which will contain members at all these levels.
We have six teams (with approximately 9-10 members on each team) and the format is as follows: two teams playing a fixture of three matches against each other at 7 pm, and two teams at 8 pm, two at 9 pm.
For all House League matches, the emphasis is on competitive fun and getting to play with lots of members. Please note that due to the high number of participants, play is not guaranteed for everyone every week.
For members who miss registration or are often away, there is an option to join our House League Spares lists. Please let our House League Coordinator know if this applies to you and we will put you on the applicable Spares List.
For the House League to run, volunteers are needed to lead and co-ordinate the program. Our House League Coordinator is looking for people who are willing to be captains/co-captains–so any members willing to help out, please contact Houseleague@lawrenceparktennisclub.ca. This is one of our most popular events and cannot run itself so please consider volunteering to lead a team.
Each year we have a year ending House League social event with a nominal charge. The House League Captains and participants determine when it is best held and the best format.
