Junior Lesson Program

2014 junior program banner

At Lawrence Park Tennis Club, we start with spring after school and weekend lesson programs, continue with summer day camps and finish with fall after school and weekend lesson programs.

These programs are led by Head Pro Valerie Ushanova. Interested in reading her biography? Please click here to link to her bio.

The recreational junior programs at Lawrence Park Tennis Club have something for every age group. Using our systematic “Program Pathways”, it’s easy to see where to place your junior player and then see how they progress through the different stages of “Progressive Tennis” curriculum.

Are you unsure what stage your player fits into? Please let us know and we would be happy to help! At times, there could be a strong nine-year-old player who is ready for a higher stage or, the opposite. Our goal is to ensure your player is placed appropriately for their skill level while attempting to ensure they enjoy a good social experience as well!

Junior Membership:

After joining as a Junior Member you are able to register in all our junior programs. Junior members may also tag up/book with either an adult or junior member during family time all day Saturday and with either an adult or junior member during the dedicated junior spring and fall instructional time 4-6pm weekdays in May, June, September and October if there is a court available that is not being used for junior instruction.  Of course, at any time a junior member may play as a guest of an adult member (with no guest fee) assuming that the level of play does not affect players on other courts (more details on our Rules and Etiquette page).

  • Junior Membership – $60/season; you can join as a playing member or add instruction through our spring, summer or fall junior programs; juniors are also permitted to use the courts during family time and with an Adult member.
  • Once you have joined as a junior member and would like to sign up for additional junior programming, click here, log in to our Members’ Area and look for our junior programs listed under Courts & Events / Events.

Copies of our Junior newsletters are viewable on the Club Newsletter page which is clickable at the bottom of each web page.

Our Intermediate membership category is for young adults who become age 18 to 23 in the current membership year and the pricing for that category is $130 + HST/year. Intermediate members may arrange for instruction directly with our Pros or participate in Adult clinics and events. Intermediate members have the same court privileges and court etiquette expectations as our Adult members.

Our younger members are the future of tennis; the goal is to encourage them to learn, develop, compete and have fun whether through lessons, tournaments, summer camp or just playing tennis.
