House League

HOUSE LEAGUE

Our popular house league program includes Two Leagues:

  • Monday Morning House League from 8:00 – 10:00 am, and
  • Monday Evening House League from 6:30 – 10:30 pm

House League starts in mid-May and runs until mid-August (excluding the August Civic Holiday).

House League is open to members at all levels, and provides an opportunity to play regular guaranteed games (mixed, ladies’ and men’s doubles), meet new members and possibly new tennis partners through a team-based, fun based competitive program.

Registration on-line is required for House League which is sent out in April through our Between the Lines newsletter.

Games are played and arranged according to your level, Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3. When players register on-line for House League, they will be asked to indicate their level of play (Line 1, Line 2 or Line 3), and will be divided into teams which will contain members at all these levels. Each House League will have two evaluation sessions conducted by our Pro to affirm a participant’s   self-evaluation level. If our Pro assesses a players a a different Line level then your self-evaluation, you are contacted by the Games Director and advised of your Line level to start the season.

For the Evening league: we have eight teams (with approximately 9-10 members on each team) and the format is as follows: two teams playing a fixture of three matches against each other at 6:30 pm, and two teams at 7:30 pm, two at 8:30 pm and two at 9:30 pm.

For Morning league: we have four teams (with approximately 8-10 members on each team) and the format is as follows: two teams will play a fixture of three matches against each other at 8:00 am and two teams at 9:00 am.

For all House League matches, the emphasis is on competitive fun and getting to play with lots of members. Please note that due to the high number of participants, play is not guaranteed for everyone every week.

For members who miss registration or are often away, there is an option to join our House League Spares lists.  Please let our Games Director know if this applies to you and we will put you on the applicable Spares List.

For the House League to run, volunteers are needed to lead and co-ordinate the program.  Our Games Director is looking for people who are willing to be captains/co-captains–so any members willing to help out, please contact Games@lawrenceparktennisclub.ca. This is one of our most popular events and cannot run itself so please consider volunteering to lead a team.

Each year we have a year ending House League social event with a nominal charge.  The House League Captains and participants determine when it is best held and the best format.
